He has a YouTube channel called LegendBTV where he makes music reactions and discussions on Nickelodeon. He plans to make music his full time job. He was introduced to Flex Entertainment through his internet friend Beetlebat. The two put out the dance-pop collaboration "Sun Goes Down." He was infamous for being reluctant in signing to Flex Entertainment until his eventual signing on May 19, 2023.

Music career[edit | edit source]

2018-19: Cover Channel and "Nightfall" collabration[edit | edit source]

Riggle had been taking choir classes in high school and started developing his singing abilities. By the summer of 2018, he started releasing vocal covers of his favorite songs such as "Sit Next to Me" by Foster the People and "This Feeling" by The Chainsmokers. He would release one almost every month. In 2019, Riggle started slowing down on his music reviewing content, switching over to a reacting style. On February 22, Riggle announced he would be launching a second channel "Covers By Ben Riggle" where he would continue his cover ventures. This was a way to separate his reaction content and music content. He had no professional microphone, so he was just singing into a camera. His first cover on the channel was from 3 Doors Down "It's Not My Time." His first duet was with kelly the vietnamese where they sang "Closer" by The Chainsmokers on April 1. He would continue to put out multiple covers throughout the year, reaching one hundred subscribers. He was reached to by underground EDM DJ "It's Cat" for a collaboration. It would be a remix of his song "Nightfall" which would include vocals from Riggle. The track would be released on October 30, 2019, alongside Cat's debut album "Summer Vibes." It is Riggle's first official song. It reached one thousand streams on Spotify by 2020.

2020: Solo music venture[edit | edit source]

Following his cover of "Circles" by Post Malone in November of 2019, he took a break from covers in order to buy a professional studio-quality microphone. He returned in January 28, 2020, with a cover of "Put A Little Love On Me" by Niall Horan. The song became his most viewed cover yet with nearly seven thousand views. The posts weren't nearly as consistent as the COVID-19 pandemic limited his free time. He would release a few popular covers such as "Be A Light" by Thomas Rhett and "A Day Like This" from Spongebob. He started investing into mixing and mastering engineers to make his music sound more professional. He would release his first solo single "Make My Day" on August 7, 2020, to positive reception from fans. It is a chipmunk soul and R&B/pop ballad. The cover art features internet friend and model Emily Gasper. He started switching his focus to original material and occasional covers. His second single "Pretend to Love" was released on October 16, 2020. He began his investment in marketing and promotion with the single getting nine thousand plays on Spotify. The cover art was panned but the song was received well. He put out two more singles in December "What I'm All About" and "Move On." "About" received six thousand plays on Spotify and became one of his signature songs.

2021-2023: College classes and "Sun Goes Down"[edit | edit source]

The first single he released in 2022 was "Heard That Before" on March 5, 2021. The Maroon 5 inspired track received positive reviews. Riggle and Beetlebat had been friends for nearly four years, and had been planning out a collaboration. After Squeaky gave Beetle a EDM/dance-pop beat, he would reach out to Riggle. He is obviously a big fan of electronic house music. Beetle announced the track on March 26, 2021. On March 27, the song was released to critical acclaim from the Flex community. Beetle and Riggle met up in Indianapolis on June 30 to film a music video for the single. The music video was filmed at an Indianapolis Marriott Downtown hotel. It was finally released on July 9. It would become Beetle and Riggle's first number one single on the Flex charts. It introduced Riggle to the Flex community where he ended up getting bombarded with feature requests. On July 30, he put out "We Could Be" which didn't perform well compared to his previous tracks. Following this release, he started getting caught up with his college classes which damaged his work rate on YouTube and music. Thankfully, the school he was taking throughout 2022 allowed him to become much more knowledgeable on music. After an entire year without a single, "Darkside" finally came out on August 23, 2022. There are rumors of a second collaboration between Riggle and Beetle to come in the future. Also, he plans to come back in Summer of 2023 with new and improved music due to his use of real recording studios and producers, rather than his past recording process at home. This song will be about a girl he was madly in love with.

2023-present: Signing to Flex Entertainment[edit | edit source]

After two years of stalling, Riggle signed to Flex Entertainment on May 19, 2023. That same day, he released his first song under the label "Get In My Life."

Personal life[edit | edit source]

He grew up in Carmel, Indiana, graduating in 2020. He currently attends college where he takes various musical classes to become a professional singer. His personality has been described as wild, over-the-top, weird, and fun. He loves dark humor and Spongebob memes.

Critical Reception[edit | edit source]

Riggle's music has been received fairly positively in Flex Entertainment community. It has been praised by Ben's expressive vocals and charm. Many wished he would sign to Flex Entertainment. Upon the release of "Sun Goes Down," Ben Riggle was famously bombarded with feature requests by Flex Entertainment members. It is widely considered to be one of the greatest Dance pop songs in Flex history.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Similar to Beetlebat, he has a strong connection to music with artists like Maroon 5, Zara Larsson, Calvin Harris, and various underground EDM DJs being his personal favorites.
  • He is also known for being a bit of a "simp", obsessing over famous social media influencer Addison Rae and Zara Larsson. However, in the recent months, he has worked on himself to control his over excitement for girls, by working out, and stopping simp behavior and is working towards getting better at attracting them, and communicating with them.
