xofilo (born August 15, 2003) (formerly known as LVN Filo) is an American singer, songwriter, producer and occasional rapper. They were signed to Flex Entertainment during late 2020 and early 2021 after being discovered by executives Yung Schmoobin and Lil Mosquito Disease. They were best known in the label for being one of the first "hyperpop" artists.
Although a very popular member of the community, xofilo left in March 2021 shortly after the release of the third Flex Gang compilation. They are currently a member of the popular scenecore collective FabFantasy.
They are best known in the Flex community for their hit songs "addicted to u <3", "late night", "D.T.Y.D." and "feathers" as well as their debut EPs HYPER-FILOLIAL and EXTRA-HYPER-FILOLIAL which contained many of the aforementioned hit tracks that performed well on the Flex Hot 100. Their debut album auroville (released after their departure) also received popularity and notoriety in the Flex community.
Their older music is best known for their 100 gecs and Kanye West esque vocalization, indie vibes, and experimental DIY nature. Their newer music is better known for it's repetitiveness, 2000s scenecore music, and more natural-sounding vocals. They have since gained notoriety for their tendency of deleting much of their old discography.

Beginnings (Early 2020)[edit | edit source]
Filo started out by making remixes of other artist's songs and posting them on their SoundCloud, like their synthwave remix of "Hand Crushed by a Mallet" by 100 gecs, experimental remixes of "Game of Mosquito" by Lil Mosqutio Disease, "Ice Triccs" by Yung Fizz, "Sex Talk" by Megan Thee Stallion, and more. On March 22, 2020, they released their debut single "Chocolate Parfeit" on SoundCloud, which got deleted a few weeks later. They then released a few singles like "late night" and "STAY WITH ME", which would lead up to their debut EPs HYPER-FILOLIAL and EXTRA HYPER-FILOLIAL. The two aforementioned projects were later deleted as they were no-longer proud of the said material.
Flex Entertainment, HYPER-FILOLIAL series, and auroville (Mid 2020-Early 2021)[edit | edit source]
On June 4, 2020, LVN Filo was signed to Flex Entertainment. They first appeared on two songs on the Flex Gang, Vol. 2 compilation album: their solo song "Itookyourgirltofancyrestaurant" (also known as "ITOOKYOURGIRLTOMCDONALDS!") and the collaborative song "No Words" with Lil Toy Yoda. "No Words" is considered by many to be one of the greatest Flex Entertainment songs of all time. Filo released their EP EXTRA HYPER-FILOLIAL on August 28, 2020 to positive reception, which saw them branching out and trying new genres and subsequently led to the creation of their acclaimed hit "addicted to u <3". It was their second release under the label. Filo announced the works of a debut album entitled auroville with the lead single "D.T.Y.D." being released on October 2020. It was then followed by "follow the leader", "eyez", and "all alone". They left Flex Entertainment on March 12, 2021 and the album was released on June 4th, 2021.
Critical Reception[edit | edit source]
During filo's time in Flex Entertainment, they were often talked about in a positive light. Their EPs "HYPER-FILOLIAL" and "EXTRA HYPER-FILOLIAL" were both well received by fans and critics. They were considered as one of the best artists of the label by some.
Their debut album auroville received polarizing reviews from critics as some had praised for the extensive genre branching and unique transitions emulating a DJ performance. Others criticized the presence of the featured artists and some felt that several genres did not work. A few months later, Filo reissued the album omitting several tracks including singles "eyez" and "follow the leader" and replacing several features with second verses. It was met with moderate criticism despite the flaws the original track listing had, until the album as a whole was taken down in early 2023. Despite that, their song "ice age" is viewed as a classic banger. Lil Squeaky who was featured on an early version of the song went off too.
Filo's more recent output is barely looked at with as much of a positive light in the Flex community, as many see it as loosing the original sense of creativity and fun that made them so drawn towards their music in the first place, alongside the fact that they were basically retreads of "addicted to u <3". While they continue to be commercially successful outside the Flex community, many do miss the more DIY and indie aspects of the older music that filo was known to make. Their reception has plummeted as a result and even was met with criticism for deleting their old discography including their well-received debut EPs and their beloved tracks "late night" and "addicted to u <3".
