Following the release of "The Sex Tape", "Tear Dat A$$ Up" debuted and peaked at No. 15 on the Flex Entertainment Hot 100. It has charted for twenty weeks, primarily within the top 30.

The song debuted on the Braeden's Most Played Songs chart at No. 19. It rose to No. 15 the following week after its single release. Two weeks later, it re-entered the chart at a new peak of No. 13. It reached the top ten, peaking at No. 10. This is Mosquito's twelfth and Squeaky's eighth top ten single. It was ranked as the sixty-eigth best-selling single on the BMP chart for 2022.

Critical reception[edit | edit source]

"Tear Dat A$$ Up" received mixed reviews from critics. The hook and opening verse received praise, but the R&B beat switch featuring a sample of "Dilemma" by Nelly was criticized for being "unnecessary." As a result, the song's radio edit is less than half the length of the official version.
